“Cashion Public Schools stands at a defining moment in our history. The rapid growth in our district reflects the strength and success of our community, but it also brings challenges to maintaining the quality education that is the foundation of our proud tradition.

With rising enrollment leading to overcrowded classrooms, it is essential that we take action to continue the excellence that defines our school. By planning and building new facilities, we can embrace this growth while staying true to our legacy of fostering a strong, supportive learning environment for every student.

Together, we remain Wildcat Strong, Building on Tradition!”

Welcome to the FAQ section for the 2025 Cashion Student Growth Plan! Here, you’ll find answers to common questions about this exciting initiative. You can reach him at 405-433-2741 or shood@cashionps.org. “Together, we’re #CashionStrong, Building on Tradition and Planning for a Brighter Future!”

As we look toward the future, we’re preparing for significant growth. With 700 new homes expected in our district over the next 5-10 years, we need to update our campus to avoid overcrowded classrooms and portable buildings.

Our Challenge? We’re Landlocked. But We Have a Plan!

Our solution is moving the football field inside the track to free up space for a new high school that will be built in phases. To make this possible, we’re starting with a lease-purchase that will allow the school to directly fund these improvements without using bond money.

The Lease Purchase Plan includes:

  • Transforming the old wrestling room into a new Vo-Ag classroom.
  • Creating new spaces by converting the greenroom for cheer practice and elementary PE.
  • Upgrading the softball field with artificial turf.
  • Converting the current football fieldhouse for wrestling.
  • Moving the football field inside the track (the track will stay the same). This will include new bleachers and lighting.

Once again, these projects will all be part of the lease purchase that will not be paid out of the bond.

Next, the bond funding begins. Phase 1 marks the start of building a new 30,000 SF high school with:

  • 6 classrooms doubling as safe rooms.
  • 4 state-of-the-art science labs.
  • Secure entry and office space.
  • New cafeteria, kitchen, and commons.
  • New parking lot.
  • An enhanced track and football facilities, including a new fieldhouse.

This two-step approach allows us to manage our budget effectively while creating room for growth. Our vision is to create the best possible environment for our students while maximizing the use of our resources.

This bond is a $39,930,000 investment spread over 13 years, with a 15% tax increase. To break it down: For every $1,000 you pay in property taxes, it’s about $12.37 more per month.

With your support, we can ease overcrowding, build better spaces for our kids, and embrace the exciting growth happening in our community. It’s a step forward for the future of our Wildcats.

The bond will allow us to create safe, modern learning environments, address overcrowding, and provide students with state-of-the-art science labs and extracurricular facilities. By reducing the need for portable classrooms, we can focus on fostering a stable and enriched educational experience. This investment is all about ensuring our kids have the best opportunities to thrive and succeed.

In Oklahoma, bond funds are for capital improvements and long-term projects, such as:

  • Building new facilities or additions.
  • Renovating and repairing existing spaces.
  • Enhancing safety features, technology, and athletic facilities.

Bond funds cannot be used for day-to-day expenses like:

  • Salaries, utilities, or routine maintenance.
  • Classroom supplies or administrative costs.

The goal is to invest in the physical infrastructure to support students and community growth.

Bond issues require 60% approval to pass, so every vote makes a difference!

If it doesn’t pass, we will have to add additional temporary portable classrooms, which aren’t ideal. Plus, upgrades to athletic and extracurricular spaces would be delayed, impacting student programs including FFA, wrestling, and cheer.
